Early April our local nursery opens their doors for fuchsia Saturday. We’re lined up at the crack of dawn to fill our pots with their FREE soil to plant these beauties.
Our favorite annual spring planting is the trailing fuchsia. The delicate deep purple flowers bloom all summer long. Up until last week, we’ve tenderly tended to the old blooms, yellowed foliage, and fertile soil.
So last Saturday at our yard sale, a neighbor, who happens to be a real estate agent, offered to buy a couple of my abundantly blooming fuchsia pots. SOLD!
You see, as much as we’ve enjoyed our favorite bloomer, these pots only have perhaps a month left of blooming floral candy. Come January, they’ll be frozen, empty pots.
Next year we’re gonna miss fuchsia Saturday.
