Dog Days At The Beach

With a few days to go before we venture east from Ventura, we are enjoying some free time at the beach. I’m not sure who’s having more fun, the dogs frolicking in the surf, or us laughing at their playfulness. Either way, we all are smiling, dog ear to ear.

It’s hard to believe that we’re starting to see pumpkin patches popping up along the roadside and the neighbors starting to set out the spooks and we’re still on the coast. The best news is the weather is cooling down going east. By east, I mean Vegas. It’s the only logical stopping point between the coast and desert.

I’m hoping to rig up my fishing pole for some late summer fishing off the “historical” Ventura pier. Arne has the crab pot, I’ll get the bait.

Let’s see, we have a black shark attacking a miniature guppy…

Or the oxymoronic giant shrimp on the black shark’s tail…

I’m guessing a day at the pier might bring in a flounder, perhaps a herring, but there will be no crabs~~~All smiles, no bait.
