I’ve been reading about the recent wet weather in the Northwest. Record breaking rain in December? Boy, having lived in Oregon for twenty-five years I remember some soggy Decembers. Hard to believe I just missed a record breaker. I’d have built an ark.
I also remember a few White Christmases and glacial roads in December. It’s fun IF you’re staying home for the holidays. I can’t even imagine walking the dog while he’s dog paddlin’ our neighborhood streets back in flooded Portland.
So this year we’re staying home in Florida. Oh wait! Hali happens to be flying back Christmas day. Good day to fly~bargain airfares. We’ll have our family celebration Christmas Eve, sing carols around our plastic tree, walk the dog in shorts and flip-flops, and watch the snow fall in downtown Celebration. What? Snow in Florida on Christmas?
No, this is not Disney magic.
Click the word Disney if you want some magic, magic, and more magic. And ONLY if you believe in magic.
I know this is hard to believe but while walking the dog wearing short sleeves and flip-flops(me, not the dog) in the tiny Celebration neighborhood of Kissimmee, it began to snow. It’s TRUE! Our first winter in Florida and we’re lucky enough to have a White Christmas. How cool is that, Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland? Forget about building an ark. “Hey Carli, Do you want to build a snowman”?
“Hali, give everyone a warm hug for us back in Oregon. We’re staying home in FROZEN Florida”.
Merry Christmas Y’all,
