We had a short layover in Florida this winter. Travel being our passion, the re-launch always felt like waiting for Christmas. This time, the end of our stay is sneaking up fast. We head to Costa Rica Friday! Before we go, we’ll be clearing out the evidence of being here. Yup, gotta get it renter-ready for Carli’s next roommate. I’m amused how quickly we get comfortable, build a routine, and take over space.
On this turn I became quite aware how central Florida’s notable and distinctive features now feel commonplace. I leave the house without the camera around my neck. What’s with that!? Granted, I’ve spent more time indoors: building the website, and keeping warm -it’s been a cold winter, by Florida standards. This week I decided to find my travel eyes.
What are “travel eyes”? It’s seeing the familiar world around you, from a travelers perspective. You know, that excitement and thrill of new sites and the unusual… you just can’t stop taking pictures, everything is so special? Well, Travel Eyes is a bit of a game I play with myself: force myself to meet new people, walk down unfamiliar streets, look at the “everyday” as if I’m visiting from Mars. The best part, you don’t have to wear a fanny pack! Here are a few of my discoveries:
