If I say so myself, we have moved at lightning speed to turnover and rent an apartment. Since my last newsletter, we have cleared out, cleaned up, painted and marketed a two-bed, one bath, shared home. If you’re going to have a vacant unit, I can’t think of a better month than August to have it. We met many people in transition – what I always thought a “spring thing.”
Most of our efforts boiled down to plain & simple ELBOW GREASE, not very exciting, but effective. Added some bright colors, and it seemed to sell itself. The unit is tucked away from the street, newer (mid 1990’s), and not far from the beach.
The down-side?, it’s in the midst of homes of contradictory and sometimes uncertain character. Then again, uncertain character may very well be the draw:
Sometimes there are sidewalks, sometimes there aren’t:
Some folks have yards, others hardtop:
And then there are neighbors, well, words just can’t describe:
Have not seen any front yard vegetable boxes, but I have found overloaded lemon trees! I’ve learned to favor a certain thin-skinned, round-shaped lemon that I chanced upon once, and have had a heck of a time retracing the steps to locate!
Yeah, I can see why the place rented so quickly!
